of my initial idea, with key poses. The idea started out quite different than what I ended up with and many actions were heavily altered or cut from the project entirely. My aim was to animate this beast in a way that heavily displayed a savage personality. |
The fThis piece was inspired by my love of fighting games, and so I used plenty of fighting game reference. I made it a focus to clearly show the weight of each hit with this animation. I chose four of the most common attacks you see in fighting games to animate. The final result has a zoomed in camera so you can see the action clearer, and lighting to give the piece a more polished look.
With this piece, I really wanted to emphasize the momentum at which the skateboarders body was moving, to give the animation a fun, more cartoon-like feel to it. Skateboarding videos and video games are something that fascinate me, so I thought it would be fun to tackle animating a trick sequence. I chose some of the most recognizable tricks including a kickflip and pop shove-it.
